Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warned that the BNP needs to stop violence and the killing of people in the name of their movement, or else the government knows how to stop it.
Sheikh Hasina instructed the party leaders and workers to burn BNP leaders and activists' hands in the same fire that they set to burn others.
She said these while addressing a rally after the metro rail inauguration from Agargaon to Motijheel, at Arambagh, Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.
Sheikh Hasina said: "What will happen to BNP leaders when their vehicles and properties are set on fire by the public?"
Addressing current political concerns, Sheikh Hasina said despite multiple attempts on her life, her goal remains to create a “Sonar Bangla” based on her father's ideals, through her love for the people of the country.
Sheikh Hasina said: “While the Awami League is focused on the country's development, the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami engage in destructive actions under the guise of movement. My position as the head of the state is merely an opportunity to serve the people of the nation.”
Regarding the killing of a police officer during a BNP rally on October 28, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said: “BNP's idea of a celebration is centred on burning and destruction. BNP’s movement is arson, killing people and attacking law and order forces.”
Sheikh Hasina further mentioned that the ruling party is still showing tolerance as they do not want anarchy.
“BNP's conspiracy is continuing, the prime minister said that countrymen including party leaders should be careful so that their conspiracy does not succeed in any way,” she added.
