BNP Senior Joint Secretary Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has taken to the street on the second day of the three-day blockade announced by BNP protesting the police's interference in their mass rally and demanding the release of the arrested members.
The procession began in the capital's Rampura area at 8am on Wednesday.
During the event, Rizvi said: "Our movement is a fight for the restoration of democracy and rights. Threats, shootings, killings, and repression cannot halt this movement. BNP leaders and activists will return home only after securing the rights of the people."
Additionally, under the guidance of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Member Secretary Aminul Haque, Rupnagar thana BNP leaders, along with representatives from various organizations, prepared to block the Beribadh highway in Rupnagar.
Furthermore, student leaders from various institutions positioned themselves at various points in the capital in support of the blockade.
In solidarity with the blockade, Dhaka College Chhatra Dal leaders and activists organized a procession around 8am in the Science Lab area of the capital.
However, attempts by blockaders to obstruct the road in Narayanganj by burning tires were thwarted upon the arrival of the police, prompting them to disperse.
As part of the blockade program, BNP leaders and activists have already commenced demonstrating on various major roads nationwide.
