Awami League, BNP rallies: 3 vehicles vandalized in Dhaka

Miscreants vandalized three vehicles in Dhaka’s Kakrail area on Saturday, as both Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) are set to hold their respective rallies.

Witnesses said miscreants from a procession vandalized two pick-up vans while passing through the Kakrail area, opposite to the residence of the chief justice around 11am.

Later, they also vandalized a bus of Boishakhi Paribahan in front of International Mother Language Institute in the area.

Police have arrested a person involved in the attack.

The identity of the arrestee could not be known immediately.

Thousands of leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies have gathered in front of the party’s Naya Paltan central office to attend the grand rally on Saturday to mount pressure on the government to accept their one-point demand.

Meanwhile, Awami League is scheduled to hold its peace rally at Baitul Mukarram Mosque’s South Gate in the afternoon.
