The opposition BNP has said at least 12,930 of its leaders and activists have been accused in 49 new cases filed over various programs of the party on October 18.
Six hundred twenty of them had already been arrested, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told reporters at a press briefing at the BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan, Dhaka, on Monday.
He said since July 28-29, around 1,990 BNP leaders and activists had been injured across the country. A total of 26,050 had been sued in 395 cases and 2,975 had been arrested, the veteran politician added.
