Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader has announced plans to field candidates in 300 seats in the upcoming 12th parliamentary elections.
"Jatiya Party is actively organizing conferences at the district and upazila levels in preparation for the upcoming election," GM Quader informed reporters at the Circuit House before participating in the Gaibandha district Jatiya Party's bi-annual convention on Thursday.
He emphasized Gaibandha district's reputation as a Jatiya Party stronghold, adding: "In the next election, all five parliamentary seats in the district will be under Jatiya Party's control."
Regarding election alliances, he clarified that no decision had been made yet.
Addressing the rising commodity prices, the JaPa chairman expressed concern, saying: "The current market prices of goods have become unbearable."
He blamed the inefficiency of the government for this price.
