Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has said that Bangladesh will have to be guarded for the next 100 days.
He said this while addressing a discussion organized on the occasion of the birthday of Shaheed Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at the National Press Club on Tuesday.
"I request Awami League leaders and cultural activists to guard the country for the next 100 days. Because they (BNP) want to hand over the country to the westerners. Power doesn't have to be guarded, it's the people guarding power. But the country has to be guarded,” he said,
Mentioning that BNP-Jamaat does not want power, the informational minister said they know they will not get enough votes during the upcoming elections.
"We are determined to make the next election free, fair, and transparent. I hope the BNP will also participate in the election to verify its popularity,” he added.
