The government has appointed Major General Mohammad Ashab Uddin the new ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait.
Gen Ashab was commissioned in 1979 with the first regular batch. During his career in the military, he served as the general officer commanding (GOC) of Savar and Chittagong besides other important assignments in command, staff and instructional positions, including UN peace keeping mission abroad.
He obtained his graduation degree from Chittagong University, and master’s in defence studies and political science from the National University. He also did his MPhil at the University of Madras, India.
Ashab is married and has a daughter and a son.
