The defence lawyer on Sunday filed appeal against the International Crimes Tribunal 2 verdict against Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujaheed for committing crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War, reported UNB.
Advocate Zainul Abedin, on behalf of Mujaheed, filed the appeal in the Supreme Court, said Tajul Islam, lawyer for Mujaheed. On July 17, the ICT 2 handed down capital punishment to Jamaat leader Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid for his crimes against humanity.
