The opposition BNP has started its processions in Dhaka with black flags to drive home its demand for the resignation of the Awami League government.
Dhaka North unit of BNP started its procession after 4pm. A large number of leaders and activists of the party participated in the procession.
BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury is leading the procession.
Several central leaders of the party including Amanullah Aman, and Selima Rahman were also present.
It was informed from the rally that this procession, which started from the front of Shyamoli Club ground, will pass the Shia Mosque and reach Mohammadpur bus, after crossing Taj Mahal Road, and Noorjahan Road.
From there the procession will end at the Bosila intersection.
Meanwhile, the party’s Dhaka South unit members have also brought out a procession with black flags in front of the party's headquarters at Naya Paltan to press home the same demand – the government's resignation and general election under a non-partisan administration.
The procession of this chapter of the BNP will conclude at Dayaganj.
