The opposition BNP is set to hold a road march program in the capital on Saturday demanding the release and better treatment of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The program will start from BNP’s central office in Dhaka’s Naya Paltan. The march will also cover Shantinagar, Malibagh and Moghbazar intersection.
BNP’s Dhaka South and North city units will organize the program from 3pm, BNP Chairperson's media wing member Shamsuddin Didar confirmed the matter on Friday night.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will address the program as chief guest.
Besides, Standing Committee members, senior leaders, BNP National Executive Committee and all levels of leaders and workers of affiliated organizations and leaders of various organizations are set to participate in the march.
The BNP on Friday held its mass processions in the capital to press home its demand for the resignation of the Awami League government.
The processions, organized by BNP’s Dhaka South and North city units, started at 4pm.
Thousands of leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies joined the two processions, carrying banners, festoons, and portraits of the party's top leaders.
This is the fourth program of the opposition's one-point movement with the goal to remove Awami League from power.
