BNP has decided to temporarily boycott the talk shows of Somoy TV and Ekattor TV after consulting the party's senior negotiators and with high command’s approval.
A letter in this regard has been sent to the party leaders who recently participated in tv talk shows. The letter, signed by BNP Media Cell member secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, has already been conveyed to the leaders.
"The party has decided to temporarily boycott the talk shows of Ekattor TV and Somoy TV due to their biassed approach. The decision has been made after consultations with senior BNP leaders who recently participated in these talk shows," Shahiduddin Chowdhury said.
He added: “They almost run talk shows with the planned intention of defaming the BNP party and leadership. Therefore, the decision will remain in place from on Saturday until further notice.
"The TV owners are making hostile reports against us, especially targeting our leader Tarique Rahman, to please the ruling party," the letter said.
“Sometimes the entire stage, including the host or presenter of the talk show stage, is deliberately designed to humiliate our team and leadership. In such a situation, after the advice of the senior negotiators of the party and the approval of the appropriate high command, we have decided to temporarily boycott the talk shows of Ekattor TV and Somoy TV,” the letter also added.
This decision will remain in effect until further notice.
