Quader to Tarique: Come to Bangladesh to face the music

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader urged BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman to return to Bangladesh and face the consequences of his actions.
Speaking at the Rangpur Awami League rally on Wednesday, Quader questioned the presence of any credible leader within BNP and accused Tarique of fleeing the country to evade punishment. He asserted that if Tarique had the courage, he would come back and face imprisonment.
Addressing the massive gathering of Awami League activists at Rangpur Zila School ground in the afternoon, Quader warned BNP to be prepared for the final showdown in December. He assured the crowd that Awami League would stay on the streets and actively participate in the election.
Referring to the legal issues surrounding Tarique Rahman and Khaleda Zia, Quader questioned their eligibility to participate in the election. He emphasized that Sheikh Hasina is the leader of their party and the movement.
Quader also highlighted the recent verdict against Tarique Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman. Tarique has been sentenced to nine years in jail in two cases, while his wife received a three-year jail term.
The Awami League general secretary praised the massive turnout at the Rangpur rally, considering it the largest gathering for the party in recent times.
