The ruling Awami League has now announced to hold sit-ins, in response to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) programs at important entry points into Dhaka on Saturday.
The ruling Awami League and its associated bodies announced the program on Friday.
The Jubo League announced to hold sit-ins in Abdullahpur, Tongi, Gabtoli, Aminbazar and Jatrabari, while the Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League declared to hold sit-in programs at all entrances to Dhaka.
Earlier, the opposition BNP and its alliances have announced to hold sit-ins at seven important entry points into Dhaka on Saturday.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the program during Friday's mega rally and stated that the opposition party would announce continuous movements from now.
The sit-ins are scheduled to take place from 11am to 4pm.
Thousands of leaders and activists of the BNP have gathered in front of the party's Naya Paltan central office for its grand rally to press home its demand for a non-partisan government during the general election.
In response to their program, three affiliates of the ruling Awami League–Jubo League, Swechasebak League and Chhatra League-held peace rally at the south gate of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque with countless leaders and activists in attendance.
