Quader: BNP lost all political etiquette

BNP's politics of revenge and outrage has crossed all limits of political etiquette, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said.

“Such unrealistic statements by BNP leaders are nothing but the manifestation of their inner network,” he said in a statement signed by Awami League Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua on Friday.

Quader, also the roads transport and bridges minister, made these comments condemning the BNP for saying this year's Eid did not bring joy to the people of Bangladesh.

He said the people of Bangladesh celebrated the Eid in a joyful atmosphere. “Despite the rainy weather, people left the city and went to the villages to celebrate Eid with their relatives safely. A record number of vehicles crossed the Padma Bridge and Bangabandhu Bridge as the conditions were favourable and relaxed.”

He later said that BNP does not want the people of Bangladesh to be happy or safe. The BNP leaders want the people to suffer, and they will use that suffering to do politics.

“BNP is so desperate to grab power that they cannot think about the welfare of the country or the people of the country,” the statement reads.

Obaidul Quader also said: 'Being mad to seize power, BNP leaders are spreading various kinds of hateful, misleading and completely fabricated information on various social media against the government and Awami League leaders. By narrating similarly fabricated and completely false incidents, they are presenting fictitious charges of so-called oppression to foreigners. The people of Bangladesh have always rejected BNP's destructive and lying politics.”
