BNP set to hold rallies in 15 districts, metropolitan cities Saturday

The BNP will hold rallies in 15 districts and metropolitan cities, including in Dhaka on Saturday, to press home its 10-point demand.

The BNP announced a four-day program for 82 organizational units of the party from its protest rally held at Naya Paltan in the capital on May 13.

The opposition party's demands include holding the next polls under a non-partisan, neutral government. It is also protesting the arrest and harassment of party leaders and activists in “false” cases, price hikes, loadshedding and corruption. 

A rally will be held in front of the party's central office at Naya Paltan at 2pm on the initiative of Dhaka Metropolitan North and South BNP.

Along with other demands of the party, there is also a demand for the release of Rafiqul Alam Majnu, member secretary of Dhaka South BNP. 

According to the pre-announced program, the BNP held mass gatherings in 19 districts including Dhaka metropolitan city on Friday. 

Before this, the BNP held rallies in 28 districts and cities including Dhaka city on May 19 and in 21 districts and cities including Dhaka city on May 20. 

Along with the BNP, its like-minded parties will also observe the rallies.
