Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami called a countrywide dawn to dusk hartal for Wednesday, following the pronouncement set for the same day of the International Crimes Tribunal’s verdict against Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed for his involvement in crimes against humanity.
Sources said ICT 2 is set to pronounce the verdict in the case against Jamaat Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed.
Jamaat Acting Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan in a statement declared the hartal on Tuesday.
On the other hand, Jamaat is observing a shutdown on Tuesday rejecting the Tribunal’s verdict against Ghulam Azam and demanding his release while Ganajagaran Mancha and several student organisations are observing hartal protesting the verdict.
Earlier on Monday, ICT 1 handed down Jamaat-e-Islami former Ameer Ghulam Azam, who has been charged on five accounts, 90 years imprisonment.
