Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Dr Selina Hayat Ivy was angry with the cleaners and threatened to fire the cleaners for protesting and throwing garbage in Narayanganj City Corporation premises.
AKM Shamim Osman, a member of Parliament from Narayanganj-4 Constituency, apologized to everyone for that incident.
He apologized at the prize distribution ceremony at Kanainagar Sobahania School and College on Wednesday evening.
Earlier on Sunday afternoon, cleaners protested by throwing garbage in Narayanganj City Corporation building, demanding six points, including an increase in salary and allowances. At that time, the police failed to manage the situation.
Afterwards, Ivy showed up on the scene and became furious with Shyamal, the cleaning officer for City Corporation, threatening to fire him.
Zilla Parishad Chairman Chandan Sheel, Jubo League leader Ehsanul Haque Nipu, and other leaders and activists of various levels were also present at the event.
