The pre-scheduled union-level march program of the opposition BNP was marred by clashes with ruling party men on Saturday.
The program was observed in all unions across the country to press home the BNP's 10-point demand, including holding the next general election under a non-party caretaker government.
The leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies alleged that the police and the Awami League activists obstructed them while holding the program in different areas.
Over 100 BNP leaders and activists were injured in clashes with police and Awami League (AL) men, with the party facing obstruction in different places, according to reports from Narayanganj, Sirajganj, Natore, Bhola, Bogra Jamalpur, Gazipur, Barguna and Narsingdi
At least 19 people were injured in a clash between the activists of the AL and the opposition BNP in Sadar upazila on Saturday. Twelve motorbikes were vandalised and three others were torched during the clash, reported UNB.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists allegedly vandalized the office of Barguna's Patharghata upazila unit BNP earlier in the morning.

In Bhola, local BNP leaders alleged that their peaceful program was attacked by AL men in Sadar Upazila and Borhanuddin Upazila.
The local unit of the AL, however, denied the allegation and said that the BNP did not bring out any procession in the areas.
In Jamalpur, at least 28 people were injured in a chase and counter chase between the AL and BNP men on Saturday.
The incident took place in Titopolla union when the BNP brought out their pre-scheduled procession in the afternoon. Later, police arrived at the scene and fired blank shots and tear gas shells to disperse the activists.
On the other hand, seven activists of the Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Shibir were detained when they tried to bring out a procession in the port city's Chaktai area on Saturday.
Belal Uddin, a sub inspector of Bakolia police station, said they detained seven Jamaat-Shibir men when they were about to march in a procession from in front of Bhera Market around 8am.
Besides, Ganatantra Mancha, Ganatantrik Bam Oikya, the 12-Party Alliance, Samamona Jote, LDP, Gonoforum, and People's Party, also observed a similar program in different areas of the capital as part of their simultaneous movement.

BNP senior leaders said their program was observed only at the union level as part of the party's move to involve people from the grassroots in their ongoing anti-government movement.
On February 4, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the march programme at the union level from a rally in front of the party's Nayapaltan central office.
It was the fifth program of the simultaneous movement after the mass processions on December 24 and 30, sit-in on January 11 and rallies, processions on January 16 and rallies on January 25 and February 4.
