BNP's pre-announced mass procession, scheduled to be held on Friday, will start from Naya Paltan and end at Moghbazar intersection, said BNP's Vice-Chairman and Chief Coordinator of the Dhaka divisional rally Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.
He said this at a press conference organized at the party's central office in Naya Paltan on Thursday.
Zahid Hossain said: “Our procession will be peaceful. The activists will gather at Naya Paltan on Friday at 2pm.”
The procession will start from in front of the party's central office, will pass through Kakrail, Shantinagar, Malibagh and reach Moghbazar intersection and end at Naya Paltan.
Urging the people of Dhaka to make the mass procession a success, Dr Zahid said: “Holding mass procession is our constitutional right. That is why we went to the DMP office to seek the help of the law enforcement agencies. DMP will give us full cooperation.”
On December 10, the party announced to hold mass processions across the country on December 24. As Awami League's national council was scheduled to be held on the same day, its General Secretary Obaidul Quader requested BNP not to bring out any procession on that day.
Later, BNP rescheduled its mass rally in Dhaka on December 30.
