A case has been filed against around 2,500 people over clash between the supporters of BNP and law enforcers on Wednesday afternoon centring BNP's rally on December 10.
The case was filed under the Explosives Act with Paltan Model police station around 12:30pm, said Enamul Haque Mithu, additional police commissioner of Motijheel division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Police detained 473 leaders and activists of the BNP from the party's Nayapaltan headquarters and the adjoining areas after the clash.
Moreover, around 2,000 unnamed BNP men were accused in the case.
Dhaka city (South) BNP convener Abdus Salam, Dhaka (North) convener Amanullah Aman, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Khaleda Zia's Special Assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas and Central Publicity Secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, have been made accused in the case.
The detained BNP leaders after the clash included BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Publication Secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie.
On Wednesday afternoon, a man was killed and several others were injured in a clash between the police and BNP activists in front of the party's central office at Naya Paltan in Dhaka.
