Police on Wednesday arrested at least 10 BNP men for attacking cops during a rally organized by Jubo Dal in Chandpur.
The arrestees include Haji Imam Hossain, senior vice president of Hajiganj upazila unit BNP, reports Bangla Tribune.
They were produced before a court on Thursday, OC Mohammad Zobair Syed of Hajiganj police station.
On Saturday, several BNP men launched an attack on police during the anniversary rally of Jubo Dal jointly organized by the upazila and municipal units.
Several policemen and party activists including OC Mohammad Zobair Syed were injured in the attack.
Police detained 22 BNP men from the scene immediately that day. Later at night, SI Abdul Aziz of Hajiganj police station filed a case naming 186 leaders and activists of BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Bangladesh Dal, and other affiliated organizations.
Sone 350 unknown individuals were also named in the case.
In this regard, Jubo Dal leaders have s that the police are arresting them intentionally as BNP is set to hold a mass rally in Comilla on Saturday.
