BNP's Publicity Secretary Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Annie has said that the party will establish a bicameral parliament in order to uplift balance of power at the house.
The BNP leader was speaking at a program in Khulna on Friday
He said that the BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia had mentioned the party's intention to establish a bicameral parliament in her Vision 2030 plan. The plan was announced in 2017 by the BNP.
Annie said that Ziaur Rahman had introduced multiparty-democracy in Bangladesh and later Khaleda Zia announced the party's wish to establish a bicameral parliament.
Alongside this, the party's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has talked about forming a national government – with those who are currently opposing the “fascist” rule in the country.
Annie said that the BNP has been gathering public opinion through different programs and is also conveying the party's message among the masses.
He criticized the prime minister for her recent remark where she said Khaleda Zia will be sent back to jail if the BNP does excesses.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this on Thursday while addressing a discussion arranged by Awami League at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka on the occasion of Jail Killing Day.
“We've given her (Khaleda) scope to stay in her house, suspending her sentence on humanitarian grounds. If BNP does excesses, we will send her back to jail,” she had said.
