Awami League, JaPa activists join BNP in Netrakona

More than half a hundred leaders and activists of Awami League and Jatiya Party have joined BNP in Netrakona on Sunday alleging that their parties did not properly  evaluate their talent and dedication.

Kendua Upazila BNP President Zainal Abedin Bhuiyan confirmed the matter on Sunday, reports Bangla Tribune.

He said: “500 leaders and activists of Awami League and JaPa joined BNP. On this occasion, a program was organized at the upazila BNP office on Saturday night. District BNP member secretary said as the chief guest in the event.”

The leaders who joined BNP are Kendua Upazila Jatiya Party Organizational Secretary Iqbal Kabir, Upazila Balaishimul Union Swechchhasebak League General Secretary Md Jasim Uddin, Jamal Uddin, organizing secretary of ward No 8 of Kandiura Union Awami League, Jewel Mia, member of Kandiura Union Awami League and member of Ashuzia Union Awami League. Billal Hossain. Under their leadership, more than half a hundred activists joined the BNP.

Jasim Uddin, who left the Swechchhasebak League, said: "Our opinion has no value to the big leaders. That's why I joined BNP.”

Iqbal Kabir, who left the Jatiya Party, said, “Jatiya Party has no leader. They do politics of laziness. Besides, others in my family are BNP. So I left Jatiya Party and joined BNP ideals.”

However, Jamal Uddin and Jewel Mia who left Awami League did not want to comment on this.
