A young man was beaten to death allegedly by his neighbours at Thakurpara in the district early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Dilip Chandra Biswas, 30, an activist of Comilla city unit of Jubo League, and son of Haradhon Chandra Biswas.
Dilip’s brother Babul Chandra Biswas alleged that Fazlul Hoque, owner of a nearby under-construction building, along with his son and workers of it beat up Dilip mercilessly over previous enmity around 11pm on Monday, reports UNB.
He was rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital (CMCH) in a critical condition where he died in the morning.
Later, police arrested three people, including Fazlul, in this connection.
The body was kept at the CMCH morgue for autopsy and filing of a case in this connection was underway, police said.
