Two people have been arrested in a case filed by the police over a clash between BNP activists and some members of the law enforcement agency in the Gauripur area of Lalpur upazila of Natore.
Monowaruzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Lalpur police station, confirmed the matter on Wednesday morning.
The arrestees are Golam Mostafa Tuhin and Mohir Uddin Pramanik.
Fifty-six named people and 200-300 unnamed persons were accused in the case.
Inspector Jalal, the investigating officer of the case, said the two arrestees would be sent to court on Wednesday afternoon.
The police were trying to arrest the other accused in the case, he added.
