The government should resign after considering the results of the four city corporations, said Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir, acting secretary general of main opposition party BNP.
“People have clearly said ‘no’ to this government. If the government believes in democracy they should resign,” he said at a press briefing at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Sunday.
He also said BNP backed candidates have won not only the four mayoral posts, but in most of the posts for councilor as well.
