PM Hasina to visit India in September, Awami League delegation to visit in July

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit India in September at the invitation of Indian premier Narendra Modi.

Before that, a delegation of her party, the Awami League, would go to the neighbouring country in July at the invitation of India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to make further strengthen party-to-party ties, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said at an event in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Quader, who is also the road transport and bridges minister, virtually inaugurated the ground-breaking work of the Baroyarhat-Heyako-Ramgarh road widening project at the event before speaking to reporters.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Sheikh Hasina to attend the upcoming G20 Summit, the eighteenth meeting of the Group of Twenty, to be held in New Delhi, India.

Bangladesh is among the nine guest countries to be invited by India as the president of the G20.

Quader said due to the friendly relations between India and Bangladesh, border issues between the two countries had been resolved through dialogue.
