Jatiya Oikya Front leader Dr Kamal Hossain has asked why it took almost 50 years, to publish the list of war criminals.
"The present government is in power over the last ten years, why was it not possible to publish the list earlier? How much more time will be required to take legal actions the war criminals?" he said.
Dr Kamal made the statement after paying tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War by placing wreaths at the National Mausoleum in Savar, marking the 49th Victory Day.
He said the country's biggest achievement is its independence. Everyone needs to follow the constitution, signed by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, to reach the goals set after the independence.
The country still faces many problems, fair politics and unity among people is required to overcome them. If people are not united, exploiters and corrupt people will have their chances, he added.
The Jatiya Oikya Front leader said: "Among four, the number one principle of the constitution is democracy and to make it effective fair elections are needed."
"The country's politics is cursed by black money, turning it to ill-politics. The money is used to buy and cast fake votes."
