Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has said the political culture of Bangladesh is not communal.
He made the statement while talking to reporters after placing wreaths at the National Memorial, marking the 49th Victory Day on Monday.
Responding to queries about religion-based politics in Bangladesh, GM Quader said: “The idea that religion-based political parties are moving to the fore is incorrect in the context of Bangladesh.”
Terming Bangladesh politics normal, the Jatiya Party chief said communal politics is not being practiced in the country.
He said: “It is not possible for a nation to achieve 100% democracy; however, we will do our best to obtain it as much as possible.”
When asked about the list of razakars, he said he cannot comment on it as he has not seen the full list yet.
Quader said: "People of Bangladesh should be aware of those who were against the independence of the country. Now, everyone will know the roles that the razakars played during the Liberation War."
