Quader: Pro-BNP lawyers’ behaviour unpardonable

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the behaviour of pro-BNP lawyers at the Appellate Division's courtroom is an unpardonable offence, turning the courtroom into a battle field.

“Pro-BNP lawyers’ behaviour at the courtroom was audacious and it is an unforgiveable offence,” he said while speaking in a press conference at Awami League's Dhanmondi office in Dhaka on Friday.

Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said: “The government has nothing to do with the release of Khaleda Zia as she was not imprisoned in any political case but in a corruption one.”

“BNP’s has been claiming that Khaleda is in jail in a political case which is a lie,” he added.

Quader also said any anarchy in the name of movement by BNP men will be resisted and their so- called non-political activities will be responded harshly, reports UNB.

On Thursday morning, a six-member bench, headed by the chief justice, left the courtroom after a group of pro-BNP lawyers shouted and made chaos at the courtroom during the hearing of an appeal filed by Khaleda in Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
