A military helicopter carrying Hussain Muhammad Ershad’s body has reached Rangpur.
The helicopter landed in Rangpur 11:52am on Tuesday.

The coffin of Ershad, Jatiya Party Chairman and also former president, was flown over from Dhaka’s Tejgaon airport around 10:30am.
Ershad’s younger brother GM Quader, son Rahgir Al Mahi Shad Ershad, JaPa Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga, former Secretary General ABM ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, presidium member MP Abu Hossain Babla, among many others, also went to Rangpur.
Ershad to be buried in Dhaka
Ershad’s body will be brought back to Dhaka following his fourth namaz-e-janaza after zuhr prayers on Rangpur Eidgah grounds.
He will be laid to rest at the Military Graveyard in Banani in Banani after asr prayers.

Ershad died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka on Sunday where he was undergoing treatment since June 22.
