Fakhrul: Bangladesh has a one-party rule

In a meeting with journalists at his own residence in Thakurgaon, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said there was no politics in Bangladesh rather than the one-party rule.

Mirza Fakhrul said Awami League established one-party Baksal rule in 1975 and the one-party rule had now again been restored under the shade of democracy.

The BNP leader claimed the current government was illegal and there was no reason to accept it.

He said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia had been subjected to government’s political retaliation and she had been imprisoned through false cases.

He alleged that the government neither treated Khaleda properly during her sickness nor gave her bail from the court.

On behalf of BNP, he demanded Khaleda be shifted to a specialized private hospital for her proper treatment.

He also demanded a fresh national election revoking the result of the 10th parliamentary national election to Awami League.
