BNP Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the party’s decision about participating in the DNCC by-polls will be taken after holding a discussion with party acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
He made the statement while talking to the media, after offering his prayers at the grave of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s son, Arafat Rahman Coco, on Thursday.
He said: “We will decide after talking to acting chairman Tarique Rahman.”
BNP has organized a milad to mark the fourth anniversary of Coco’s death.
The by-polls for DNCC mayor will be held on February 28.
At a recent event, Fakhrul said Jatiya Oikya Front will not participate in any election under the ruling government.
