BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said Hefazat-e-Islam chief Shah Ahmad Shafi’s remarks against women’s education are unwanted and unfortunate.
He made the statement in a press release issued on Sunday.
Fakrul said: “In the 21st century, such statements would embarrass Bangladeshis in the international community. There is no conflict of religion with women's education. BNP thinks that if women are not educated, their development and real empowerment will never happen.
