The leaders of Bangladesh National Awami Party (NAP) and National Democratic Party (NDP) have decided to join Jukta front, a political alliance of minor parties led by Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh’s president Dr Badruddoza Chowdhury.
Chairman of NAP, Jebel Rahman Gani and Chairman of NDP Khandaker Golam Mortuza held a meeting at Badruddoza’s Baridhara residence Yesterday evening..
“Badruddoza Chowdhury has agreed to include them in Jukta Front to expand the alliance,” said a press release.
Jukta Front, led by Badruddoza, has long been trying to forge a national unity to hold the next polls in a fair and credible manner and bring a positive change in politics.
Badruddoza Chowdhury’s press secretary Jahangir Alam sent the press release.
Earlier, NAP and NDP announced their decision to leave the BNP-led 20-party Alliance at a joint press conference held in Gulshan on Tuesday, accusing BNP of making a coalition with the performers of the 1/11 changeover.
They said BNP leaders had told them that the alliance was a liability for them.
The formation of the Jatiya Oikya Front, a political platform was unacceptable to the two parties.
On October 13, BNP, Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Rob) and Nagorik Oikya launched a new political platform, 'Jatiya Oikya Front', ahead of the 11th national election without Bikalpa Dhara.
On December 5 last year, Bikalpadhara, Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL), Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) and Nagorik Oikya formed Jukta front, with former president and Bikalpadhara Bangladesh Chief AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury as its chairman.
Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL) left the alliance earlier while Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) and Nagorik Oikya joined in Jatiya Oikya Front.
