With only two days left for Khulna City Corporation polls, mayoral candidates are finding it difficult to campaign due to heavy rain.
The election campaign will end on Sunday midnight. The polls are scheduled to be held on May 15.
The rain started in Khulna city around 8:30am on Sunday. It ended after 40 minutes.
Due to rain Awami League mayoral candidate Talukder Abdul Khaleque and BNP candidate Nazrul Islam Monju could not get out from home for campaigning, their election agents said.
The candidates could not continue campaigning due to heavy rainfall and stormy weather on Friday and Saturday also. All posters, banners and gates were destroyed by the Nor’wester.
According to the Met office, the adverse weather will continue for days in Khulna.
