Khulna city polls: BNP mayoral candidate declares manifesto

BNP mayoral candidate, Nazrul Islam Manju, has declared a 19-point election manifesto for the upcoming Khulna City Corporation polls, scheduled for May 15. He released the manifesto at a press conference at the party office on KD Ghosh road on Thursday. The pledges include development of civic amenities, forming a society free from drugs, reducing waterlogging, eradicating mosquitoes, making plans to facilitate the children, old people and people with disabilities, developing streets, developing education system, assisting in setting up factories and industries, reviving Khalishpur industrial zone and taking initiatives to save the Sundarbans. Manju said he would work for the qualitative development of the city corporation. “I have no plan to raise tax and will make efforts to ease tax realization process,” he said. Gayeswar Chandra Roy, member of the BNP standing committee and chief coordinator of the 20-party alliance’s election management committee, and other local leaders of the party were present at the press conference.
