UK BNP apologizes for attack on Bangladesh High Commission

The United Kingdom (UK) unit of BNP has finally apologized for the attack on Bangladesh High Commission in London on February 7. The UK BNP issued an apologetic statement, signed by unit President MA Malek and General Secretary Kaisar M Ahmed, on 9pm local time on Monday. The statement read: “UK unit BNP leaders visited the Bangladesh High Commission on London to deliver a memorandum. The acting high commissioner refused to accept the memorandum and acted rude towards the BNP leaders.

“This turn of events led to a number of untoward and isolated incidents at the high commission, as the party leaders were upset.” It further read: “BNP believes in peaceful demonstrations in both home and abroad. We sincerely apologize for the untoward incident.” After staging a protest program on the premises of Bangladesh High Commission in London, leaders and activists of BNP attacked and vandalized the High Commission on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Thursday’s verdict in the graft case against Khaleda Zia.
