Pointing the finger at “infiltrators” in the party who may be behind the incident, Hasan Mahmud said an investigation was underway to verify if there was any such inside involvement.
He made the announcements at a human chain formed in front of the National Press Club on Saturday morning. The programme was organised by the Bangladesh Swadheenata Parishad, in response to claims against the government made by BNP and Jamaat.
In his speech, he called for activists to be cautious of “the infiltrators”, who had only joined the ruling party to pursue personal ambitions and exercise power.
