The BNP yesterday announced that the party would start legal battle to withdraw the ban on airing party's Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman's statements.
Acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir claimed that the Interpol had withdrawn the international arrest warrant issued against Tarique Rahman, who has been staying in London since 2008 for treatment.
The High Court on January 7 last year banned publishing, broadcasting or reproducing speeches and statements of Tarique in print, electronic and social media as long as he remains absconding in response to a petition. The order came in the wake of controversies triggered after Tarique had labelled Bangabandhu as a razakar and friend of Pakistan.
