BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has once again called upon the government to hold talks to resolve the prevailing political crisis.
She made the call while addressing the inaugural session of the party's sixth national council at Institution of Engineers' Bangladesh on Saturday afternoon.
"I want to assure all that none will be harassed illogically. If people voted us to power, our government will work to minimise the gap between the ruling party and the opposition party," Khaleda said.
She further said: "We do not want to cling to power only through election rather want to restore people's voting right and to bring accountable government in the office."
The BNP chief also said it is the demand of the time.
She also asked the people of the country to wake up and to be united to save the country.
Earlier in the morning, the BNP chief inaugurated the party's sixth national council through hoisting the national and party flags.
