Nasim to BCL: Don’t destroy PM’s image

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday urged the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men to refrain from doing anything which tarnishes the image of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He came up with the call while addressing a discussion marking the 97th birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of Dhaka University.

Nasim observed that all should remain alert as the BNP was still trying to hatch conspiracies against the government.

“Bangabandhu earned freedom for us,” Nasim said, adding that his daughter Sheikh Hasina is now fighting for the nation’s emancipation and there was no alternative for Awami League to winning the next national election in 2019 and remaining in power until 2024.

For this, Chhatra League has to play a vital role and no chance should be given to BNP-Jamaat to win the election, he added.

Nasim, who is also a presidium member of Awami League, said those who are trying to disrespect Bangabandhu are rather inviting disrespect to themselves.

Provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall Prof Mofizur Rahman and Jahangir Kabir Nanok, MP, were present on the occasion.
