The BNP has invited Awami league President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to its sixth national council scheduled to be held on March 19.
A delegation of BNP handed over the invitation letter to the Awami League's Dhanmondi office on Wednesday, Abdul Latif Jony, assistant office secretary of the party, told the Dhaka Tribune.
Jony said Awami league leader Abdul Awal Shamim and Masudul Hasan received the invitation letter.
A delegation led by BNP leader Abul Khayer Bhuiyan, Abdul Latif Jony, Asadul Karm Saheen and Selimuzzaman Selim went to Awami League's Dhanmondi office at 5pm.
