A Dhaka court yesterday fixed March 10 for the next hearing against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, her son Tarique Rahman and seven others in the Zia Orphanage Trust case and Zia Charitable Trust corruption cases.
The BNP chief skipped yesterday’s hearing on health grounds. Her counsel submitted time petitions before the court for her non-appearance.
Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of Dhaka Special Judge Court 3 adjourned the trial proceedings until March 10 after recording the cross-examination of one witness in one of the cases.
TM Akbar Hossain, counsel for accused Monirul Islam Khan, partly cross-examined Anti-Corruption Commission Deputy Director Harun-ur-Rashid, the investigation officer in the Zia Charitable Trust case.
