Jamaat-e-Islami has called a countrywide hartal for Thursday after the apex court upheld the war tribunal’s death sentence awarded to its chief Motiur Rahman Nizami for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
A press release was issued in this regard on Jamaat's website after the verdict.
A four-member bench headed by Chief Justice SK Sinha delivered the verdict on Wednesday morning.
