PM: President will form Election Commission

She said the president will discuss and form a commission as he sees fit, and we will accept that. The prime minister said the president has initiated to form the election commission. BNP has made their proposals and placed their ideas. The president will discuss the matter with them and the election commission will be formed in that way which we will have to accept. She made the comment during the closing speech of the parliament’s thirteenth session. The prime minister said Khaleda Zia will makes suggestion on how the election commission will be formed and how the election should take place. “We saw the yes-no vote organized by BNP. We saw Mirpur Magura, Dhaka-10 elections. Even the result of the 15 February 1996 election was also seen. How they rigged the election by holding farcical election by creating fearful atmosphere by deploying Army,” she said referring to the elections marred by the allegations of irregularities in the past. This is why people removed them from power, they couldn't retain their power, they had to go, she also said referring to BNP.
