The members of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Chhatra League have locked into a clash after the activists of Jamaat-e-Islami's student wing allegedly attacked a Victory Day rally at Chittagong College.
According to the BCL members, the clash erupted when the members of Chhatra Shibir equipped with firearms attacked a rally of Chhatra League on the college premises around 12 noon.
Being informed, a team of police rushed in, fired blank shots and detained some 50 students from the spot in order to brought the situation under control, said Chawkbazar police station OC Aziz Uddin.
Additional police have been deployed in the college to avert further untoward situation, added the OC.
