Chittagong police, in overnight special drives, arrested 58 people including two activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from different upazilas of Chittagong.
Chittagong Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) Abdul Awal said: “Of the arrestees, 10 including the two Jamaat-Shibir activists were warrant accused and 48 others were accused in regular cases.”
During the drives, the law enforcers also recovered 120 pieces of yaba and 150 litres of locally made liquor. They also seized two CNG-run auto-rickshaws and a motor-cycle for violating the law, added the ASP.
