More BNP leaders who believe in the spirit of the Liberation War will resign from the party, Awami League joint secretary general Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif has claimed.
He made the comment while addressing a press conference at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political office on Thursday afternoon.

He said: “Observing the recent political activities done by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman, BNP leaders who believe in the spirit of the liberation war are resigning from the party.
“Khaleda's favour towards Jamaat-e-Islami and violent political practices are the reasons behind quitting BNP. And for this, more top BNP leaders like Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury will resign from BNP.”
Hanif termed Mobin’s resignation from BNP as a good decision and congratulated him.
BNP vice-chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury resigned from party’s all the posts on health ground.
He submitted the resignation letter to BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday.
In the resignation letter, addressing BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who is now in London, Mobin said: “In view of my prevailing health condition I have decided to retire from politics with immediate effect.”
