Seeking anonymity, they alleged that housewives were selected instead of dedicated female activists for most of the researved seats, while wife of the local lawmaker for Bogra-1 constituency was nominated for reserved seat no 1.
Besides, brother-in-law of the local lawmaker was selected for ward no 9, just to appease the lawmaker, the activists said.
The district unit AL on Wednesday announced the names of the candidates for the upcoming elections.

However, Mashrafi Hero, deputy-office secretary of Bogra Awami League, refuting the allegations told the Dhaka Tribune that dedicated members of the party were selected for the elections.
